Our History

The State of the Plate conference leveraged Minnesota’s unique position as a leader in both health care and agriculture to show the connections between food, farm and health policies. The one-day event included speakers from the Institute for Agriculture and Trade Policy and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. 

The Center’s focus expanded to include funding work in the early childhood and K–12 arenas–supporting programs like Farm to School and Farm to Head Start as well as a pilot project that studied the connections between health and learning.
